NORTH PLATTE - Sidney's Saphira Whitley claimed the title at 170 pounds and the Sidney girls wrestling team finished in 10th place at the North Platte Invite on Saturday. Whitley pinned Bayard’s Zoleigh Reffalt in 1:55 to secure gold.

Leeann Mulleavey added a fourth-place finish for Sidney at 235 pounds.

Gering freshman Rileigh Dane took third-place at 100 pounds, pinning Cheyenne East's Kailyah Bento in just one minute. Junior Rylee Luce secured second at 105 pounds, battling to a narrow 19-17 loss in the finals. Aaliyah Chavez (120) and Kaydence Mckee (125) also earned runner-up honors, while Meredith Zlomke (130) and Brodee Luce (110) finished fourth in their weight classes. Gering placed third in the team standings with 119 points.

Scottsbluff’s Marcela Colin edged McCook’s Kaylee Hunter 12-11 in a thrilling championship match at 155 pounds. Teammate Jazmyn Garcia took fourth at 190 pounds, contributing to Scottsbluff's eighth-place team finish.

At 105 pounds, Bayard senior Carlie McKibbin captured third place with a 28-second pin in her final match. Miracle Trevino added a fourth-place finish at 140 pounds, helping Bayard secure ninth in the team standings.
