LINCOLN - A community college campus in Nebraska has its first residence hall.

The Lincoln Campus of Southeast Community College has opened Woodhaven Hall, a newly constructed student dorm on the east side of the campus.

The 250-bed facility is the first residence hall on the Lincoln Campus. Prior to the project, students commuted to campus, aside from nearby available private apartments.

Also on the Lincoln Campus, construction continues on the $32.4 million Sandhills Global Technology Center, which will include SCC’s Biotechnology, Computer Information, Design & Drafting, and Electronic Systems Technology programs. It is scheduled to open in time for the 2024 Fall Semester. It's located next to the new Health Sciences Center.

Sandhills Global made a $5 million gift, the largest in SCC history, toward the construction. SCC also received nearly $4.5 million in federal ARPA funds distributed by the city of Lincoln.

A new $33 million Welding Technology Center is being constructed on the north side of the Lincoln campus of SCC.  It will include more than 23,000 square feet of learning and training spaces, labs and 180 welding bays for student and workforce hands-on training.
