Heat forces changes to Beatrice sports week, football now set for Friday

BEATRICE, Neb - The recent heat wave has led to several changes surrounding Beatrice athletics this week. 

Monday night's softball game at Platteview is now a varsity only contest starting at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday's home game vs. Waverly is now also varsity only with first pitch set for 7:30 p.m. at Hannibal Park. Girls golf is set for 8:15 a.m. Tuesday and Beatrice football will now take on Gross Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Bellevue East -- the game was originally set for 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
