Scotts Bluff County postpones new fueling station

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners postponed a future project for a county fueling station.

On Monday, the Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners postponed the opening of bids for a new fueling station for county vehicles. This proposed station will be on Seventh Street near the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center. The board postponed opening the proposed location for bids due to a lack of knowing if the county would need to get all permits and certification for the bids to be placed or each individual bidder would need them.

“Well I am concerned about what we got drawn here,” said Russ Reisig, board member. “That there isn’t any other things in route close to it. We’re very close to a well.”

The board voted 3-2 to table the fueling station proposal to another date. The board has not decided on a date to discuss but the board will have Facilities Manager Jay Steinle seek information on permits before the next hearing.

If people have questions about the meeting Scotts Bluff County offices can be contacted at 308-436-6670.
