BEATRICE – Police made an arrest for suspected drug violations following a Wednesday night traffic stop along East Court Street in Beatrice.

An officer stopped a van that had no front or rear license plates, eastbound in the seven-hundred block of Court.

Police were given consent to search the vehicle by its owner.  Police observed a purse on the front passenger seat that contained a glass stem recognized by an officer to be a methamphetamine smoking device.  Police said the device contained suspected meth residue.  Also recovered during the search of a passenger was a micro-baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.

Authorities arrested the passenger of the van, identified as 42-year-old Danyelle Watford of Beatrice.   She was jailed on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
