Vehicle collision sends one to hospital in Lincoln

A Lincoln collision with a tractor trailer resulted in a man going to the hospital with severe injuries.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Lincoln collision with a tractor trailer resulted in a man going to the hospital with severe injuries.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to 84th St. and Highway 2 with Lincoln Fire and Rescue for a reported injury accident on Oct. 16 at 12:40 a.m.

Officers said they found a 2022 Ford Expedition had ran into the back of a tractor trailer east of the intersection. 

According to authorities, the tractor trailer and the Expedition were both traveling westbound and the tractor trailer reportedly started to accelerate after stopping at a red traffic signal.

Officials said the 23-year-old male driver of the Expedition was taken to a local hospital and has life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
