LINCOLN, Neb. -- A semi-trailer caught on fire near Lincoln and destroyed thousands of wheat flour.

The report said 42,000 pounds of wheat flour was destroyed in the fire Monday night in the area of Highway 34 and Highway 79. Malcolm Fire and Rescue and the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office responded to the fire.

LSO said the semi-trailer was engulfed in flames. Deputies said the driver reportedly saw smoke coming from the trailer, was able to pull over and pull the tractor form the trailer to prevent more damage.

According to authorities, it is considered a total loss with the flour valued at an estimated $10,000 and the trailer itself was estimated at $50,000.
