NORFOLK - Handed a golden opportunity in the final minute, the White Team took advantage, scoring with seven seconds left to beat the Red Team 17-10 in the 2021 Northeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic.

O'Neill Quarterback Mason Walsh connected with Humphrey St. Francis' Haustyn Forney on the 25-yard game-winning touchdown strike. It happened one play after Stanton's Mason Brueggeman blocked a Red punt, giving White the strong field position.

The game-winner completed a comeback for the White, who surrendered the first ten points of the game in the first half. White did a better job moving the ball in the first half but saw two drives end with interceptions.

Stanton's Sutton Pohlman of the White Team was the offensive MVP. He tied the all-star game record with ten receptions, for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Pohlman almost set new records on offense, defense, and special teams. He became the first player in the history of the game to intercept two passes and had what would have been a record-tying 46-yard punt return called back because of a penalty.

Oakland-Craig's Caden Nelson was the defensive MVP, finishing with seven tackles, and one tackle for loss.

Wakefield's Nick Arenas caught a 56-yd touchdown pass, helping him earn offensive MVP honors for the Red Team, while Lutheran High Northeast's Garrett Boelter finished with eight tackles for defensive MVP honors.

O'Neill's Peyton Mathews added his name to the record books as well, with a 58-yard punt in the third quarter.

The win was the third in a row for the White squad. No game was played in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
