BEATRICE – For the second time in recent weeks, the Lower Big Blue Natural Resources District is seeking to fill a board vacancy….this one for an unexpired term in Sub-District 6, in Beatrice.

Board member Doug Pieper has moved out of the Sub-District he represented, creating the vacancy.  Pieper has served on the Lower Big Blue NRD Board, since 2013.

Board members must reside in the Sub-District they serve and be a registered voter.

The term is set to expire in January of 2022.  Persons who reside in Sub-District Six who are interested in the position, can obtain an application form at the Lower Big Blue NRD Office on Dorsey Street, in Beatrice, or obtain one online.

Sub-District six includes all of Beatrice Ward Two, except for a small portion between Washington and Summit Streets, from Seventh to Eleventh.  It also includes a part of Beatrice Ward Three between Scott and High Streets….Eighth to Ninth…..and between Grant and High Streets, from Seventh to Ninth.

Jason Sand of Beatrice was recently appointed to a vacancy on the board and is running unopposed for that position in next week’s election.

There are thirteen members on the Lower Big Blue NRD Board.
