Dorothy G. Parde, 84, of Beatrice died Sunday afternoon, July 21, 2019 at Homestead House in Beatrice. She was born on May 12, 1935 at rural Filley and baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. She grew up in the Filley area and graduated from Filley High School. She married Ernest J. Parde on February 20, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. She was a farm wife and worked on the farm with her husband. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher and a member of WELCA.
She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Beatrice and had worked as a resident assistant at Samaritan Springs. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and spending time and following her grandchildren in a variety of different activities.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl (Leroy) Meints of Filley, Glenda (Steve) Knoche of Virginia and Janet (Tim) Gabriel of Holdrege; two sons, Keith Parde of Pickrell and Kent Parde and friend, Deb Johnson of Beatrice; eight grandchildren, Jason, Kyle, Nicole and husband Nick, Haley and husband Pat, Spencer, Jill and husband Jesse, Erica and fiancé Kyle, and Emily and husband Brian; three great-grandchildren, Sean, Dylan, and Lane; one sister, Emma Meints of Filley; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Katie Ehmen Schuster; her husband Ernest, who died July 1, 2019; one sister, Leona (Willie) Ideus; an infant brother; an infant sister; brother-in-law, Ernest Meints.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell with Pastor Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pickrell. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Thursday in the church annex. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with Darlene Evers and Glennys Lienemann in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., and then one hour preceding the service at the church on Thursday. www.foxfuneralhome.net Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
