Pre-Christmas accident kills Kansas pedestrian

BEATRICE – A northeast Kansas county has seen its second fatality from a vehicle-pedestrian accident over a five-day period.
The Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the most recent incident two days before Christmas. The accident the evening of December 23rd happened along Tuttle Creek Boulevard in Riley County, at around 9:30 p.m.
45-year-old Thalonda Lashley, of Junction City, Kansas was walking north in the driving lane of Tuttle Creek Boulevard when she was struck by a northbound Mitsubishi Mirage, driven by 68-year-old John Franklin Harris of Saint George, Kansas.
The accident happened at the intersection of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Bluemont Street….at the east edge of Manhattan, Kansas.
On December 19th, a 77-year-old Riley, Kansas man was killed when he was struck by two vehicles, three miles east of his hometown.
