Judy L. Collins, 82, of Beatrice passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday November 4, 2025. She was born on April 30, 1943, in Freeburn, Kentucky to Clarence and Ruby (Rutledge) Espy. Judy was one of ten children growing up in the Kentucky and West Virginia area. When she was 18, Judy moved to Chicago to live with family. While in Chicago, Judy met the love of her life, William “Bill” Collins, and on July 15, 1961, the two were united in marriage celebrating 64 years together. They were blessed with a son, Bill, and a daughter, Sherry.  William and Judy moved from the Chicago area to Fort Morgan, CO, North Platte, NE and then to Beatrice in 1986. Judy spent her years primarily as a homemaker. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed casinos, Bingo, and bowling. Judy will lovingly be remembered as a wonderful mother and wife.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Collins of Beatrice; son, Bill (Bonnie) Collins of Lincoln; daughter, Sherry (Jeff) Schulz of Omaha; grandchildren, Lakeysha (Todd) Aerni of Papillion and Terrin (Travis) Perdew of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Alivia and Nolan Aerni; brother, Esser Hal (Joanie) Espy; sisters-in-law, Kay (Don) McGill and Ramona Collins; brothers-in-law, Jim (Jeri) Collins and Steve (Carol) Collins; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruby Espy; siblings, William, Lera Mae, Audie, James, Peggy, Janelle “Wendy,” Dale, and Clarence; brother-in-law, Howard Collins.
