Tammy Sue Morse, 57, of Blue Springs, Nebraska passed away peacefully Wednesday May 28th at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 13, 1968, in Beatrice, Nebraska, Tammy was the beloved daughter of Russell and Kathy Gierhart. She lived in Blue Springs her entire life and graduated from Wymore Southern High School in 1986. On October 14th, 1988, Tammy married the love of her life, Kevin Morse. They were a couple that deeply loved each other-partners in every sense. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Erica and Alex, who were her greatest joy and pride. Tammy worked at Medicine Chest in Beatrice, NE for 21 years and Great Finds in Holmesville, NE for 19 years. She was a dedicated and hardworking employee, always dependable and known for bringing a smile to both coworkers and customers alike.

Tammy was the kindest person you could ever meet—gentle in spirit, generous in heart, and always thinking of others before herself. Her warmth and compassion touched everyone who knew her, and her strength and grace throughout her illness inspired those who loved her. She had a zest for life and a sassy spirit that made her unforgettable.

Tammy loved camping, filled with laughter and late-night stories around the fire and embarking on cruises with cherished friends. Holidays were her favorite time of year, and she created lasting magical memories for her family. A fantastic cook with a natural talent in the kitchen, Tammy often teased anyone who dared to use a recipe. She also “supervised” the family garden—offering detailed instructions from the porch while Kevin did the actual digging, planting, and weeding. It was a system that worked, mostly because Kevin knew better than to argue. Her spunk, sharp wit, and fierce love for her people made her one-of-a-kind.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Kevin (affectionately known as “Honeybunns” or Kevie Poo”); her daughter Erica (Sabrina); her son Alex; her brother, James wife Angie and their children Levi, Heather (Trevor), Jayden (Landon), and Mackenzie); brothers-in-law Robert (Norine) and their children Amanda; Greg (Andrea) and their children Danielle (Travis) and Morgan (Mike); sister-in-law Kim (Kevin) and daughter Avery; and her beloved granddaughter Paisley. She is also survived by many aunts and uncles, cousins, countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who adored her. In addition, she leaves behind her beloved fur babies, Sam and Lexy “Lulu”. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Kathy Gierhart; her mother-in-law Sharon Frerking; and her niece, Riley Corey.

A memorial service to celebrate Tammy’s life will be held on June 11th at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran, in Wymore, NE. A family prayer service will begin at 10:45 AM. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place, but a register book will be available at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home on June 10th from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge. All are invited to please wear purple in her honor.
