Nice evening, for Night of The Great Pumpkin
Main Street Beatrice project, fun for kids and parents along Court Street
BEATRICE – Kids accompanied by their parents got to do some early trick-or-treating in southeast Nebraska, Thursday. It was the annual Night of the Great Pumpkin event in downtown Beatrice….a Main Street organization project that’s gone on for several years.
Business owners and staff joined in on the fun, dressing up in costumes and handing out goodies to kids on Court Street between Third and Seventh.
There were outside and inside displays, decorations and food vendors….along with games kids and adults could play. Free pumpkins were lined up on Court Street for kids to take home.
City and County government gets involved in the event as well, with police, sheriff’s and fire department vehicles along with utility trucks and construction equipment on display. Public employees handed out candy and other goodies to those attending.
Nearly twenty businesses, banks, health care providers and industries help sponsor the annual Halloween event, as a safe alternative to traditional trick-or-treating…which also goes on, in the community.
