John R. Lampe, 66, of Beatrice, died Saturday, September 21, 2024 at a Lincoln hospital.  He was born on March 14, 1958 in Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1976.  On May 16, 1987 he married Debra Carpenter in Las Vegas.  For nearly 40 years he owned and operated Beatrice Machine.  John was a guitarist and long-time band member.  He was a member of the Beatrice Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever and was an avid Winchester gun collector.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snow and water skiing, and being a Husker fan. 

                Survivors include his wife, Debra Lampe of Beatrice; daughter, Demarie (Nathan) Reedy of Beatrice; three grandchildren, Nevin, Ariana, and Jonis; four great-grandchildren, Connly, Royce, Rowan, and Madden; sister, Susan (John) Volner; niece, Lisa Marie Barrett; nephew, Shane Powers; step-mother, Lois Fletcher Lampe.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bernadine (Traubel) Lampe.  

                Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice.  The body will lie in state on Thursday from noon until 8:00 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice.   www.foxfuneralhome.net  Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice
