With fondness and heartache, we remember and celebrate the life of Jeffrey Lynn Garrels, better known as Jeff, who left us on June 11, 2024. Born on December 3, 1969, in Beatrice, NE, Jeff spent his 54 fruitful years in Gage County, Nebraska. Spending the younger portion of his years in Filley, Nebraska before moving to Wymore, Nebraska in 1992. Jeff is leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. A spirited soul with a witty sense of humor, Jeff was the life of any gathering, his laughter echoing long after he left.

Jeff was a thoughtful man who lived his life with purpose and passion. His dedication saw him through a successful career as an engineer on the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 2023. He was a man of diverse hobbies, finding joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, watching NASCAR, and cheering for all Husker sports. An avid collector of guns and enjoyed antiques, Jeff had a keen eye for uniqueness and history, much like his own personality.

However, above all, his proudest achievement was his family. Married to the love of his life, Wendy, since July 10, 1993, Jeff was a pillar of strength and support for his children, Sarah and Ethan. He is survived by his wife Wendy, his children Sarah (Hunter) Baete and Ethan Garrels, his sisters Kim (Dan) Dugan and Diane Timmerman. Parents-in-law Gary and Joanne Ames.
