BEATRICE - Southeast Community College has been named the 2019 “Investor of the Year” by the Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise, known as EDGE.

SCC President Dr. Paul Illich and members of the Board of Governors Kathy Boellstorff and Keith Hammons accepted the award, along with Falls City Learning Center Coordinator, Holly Carr.

The award was presented last Wednesday at the EDGE Annual Banquet. SCC received the award for “supporting the economic development mission of EDGE and exhibiting a high degree of excellence and vision.”

The college last September opened a new 9,500 square-foot learning center on the north edge of Falls City. The center has four classrooms, a large manufacturing space and health sciences area. Credit and non-credit classes are offered, as well as business and industry training.

Falls City is one of six learning centers established by the college, with others in Hebron, Nebraska City, Plattsmouth, Wahoo, and York.
