Neapco Manufacturing Employees Give to Local Food Pantry in Beatrice
BEATRICE - The Community Food Pantry and Emergency Services in Beatrice received a holiday donation from the staff of Neapco of Beatrice on Tuesday.
Tim Fralin of Neapco says the industry that employs over 260 people was able to donate a number of frozen turkeys and a couple hundred pounds of food.
“We put a notice out to our associates at Neapco and as always they always come thru. They brought a bunch of stuff in. We had our potluck and collected the food today. We have worked with Karen from the food pantry in years past and we have always donated some turkeys every year. We just build up each year as we go one. The associates enjoy doing it. It’s a little responsibility for them to give back to the community.”
Fralin says donating to the food pantry is just one of several activities Neapco employees help with in the community.
Karen Maines of the Food Pantry says the generosity of the Neapco employees is appreciated each year…
“They help support the pantry every year. They have turkeys that they give to their employees and what they have left over they give to us”
The food pantry is located in the basement of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beatrice.
