Dennis E. Wilson, 76, of Beatrice died at the Beatrice Community Hospital on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 after a long battle with COPD. He was born on his grandparents’ farm southwest of Minneapolis, KS to Franklin and Norine Wilson on June 1, 1943. When Frank returned from the service, they moved to Glasco, KS and then to Concordia, KS where Denny started school. The family then moved to Osborne, KS where he graduated with the Class of 1961. In 1967, he moved his family to Beatrice and worked in sales at Gambles/Tempo. He then worked at Safeway, Store Kraft, F.D. Kees and retired from Ratigan-Schottler Manufacturing. He and Carol Zulauf were married on September 20, 1975 in Beatrice where they made their home. Denny enjoyed remodeling, woodworking, doing Sudoku puzzles, camping, boating and playing cards with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol of Beatrice; son, Stephen (Mary) Wilson of Wymore and their children, William Wilson, Craig (Mandy) Wiedergreen and Jessica (Alex) Johnson; daughter, Keri (Jeff) Hill of Beatrice and their children, Jessica (Nick) Parde, Justin Hill and fiancée Michelle York, Janeal (Andrew) Grisak; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Donna) Wilson of Osborne, KS and Richard (Janet) Snyder of Seward; brother-in-law, Duane and Marsha Zulauf of Beatrice and sister-in-law, Judy DeBoer of Diller; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two step-dads, Lewis Snyder and Clairmont Clark; parents-in-law, Erwin and Margaret Johnson Zulauf; brother-in-law, Alfred DeBoer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Fox Funeral Home with Pastor Leah Lawson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 8:00 A.M. Friday until time of service on Saturday with the family meeting and greeting friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday.
