Rural Communities Impacted by Flooding Eligible for Additional USDA Assistance
WASHINGTON D.C. - The US Department of Agriculture has announced that $150 million is now available through its Community Facilities Program for communities impacted by natural disasters, including this year’s severe flooding.
The grants available through the Community Facilities Program is intended to help communities continue their recovery from flooding, hurricanes, fires, and other natural disasters.
The grants may be used for areas where FEMA has declared a Major Disaster Declaration and assigned a disaster recovery number.
Eligible areas include municipalities, non-profit organizations, and federally recognized Native American tribes.
Projects must be in eligible rural areas with populations of 20,000 or less.
