Victim identified in Fairbury homicide
Jefferson County authorities have identified the victim in a recent Fairbury homicide.
Twenty-eight-year-old Marc C. Jarrell, of Lincoln, was located Monday on a county road south of Endicott.
Five people are suspected in the homicide investigation. A Beatrice Police Lieutenant confirmed that the Nebraska State Patrol arrested 20-year-old Logan Evans, of Beatrice, as an accessory to second-degree murder on Tuesday.
Jefferson County Sheriff Nels Sorensen said Wednesday that the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are still possible.
Twenty-five-year-old Jerry Gilbert, of Odessa, Texas is being held without bond, on a charge of second degree murder.
Twenty-one-year-old Caitlyn Grable, also from Odessa, is being held as an accessory to second degree homicide. Her appearance bond was set at $250,000.
Twenty-three-year-old Trey Saathoff, of Diller, was initially being held on drug and tampering charges. He's now charged with being an accessory to second degree murder. His bond was also set at $250,000.
Eighteen-year-old Realidy Schram, originally from Fairbury, was arrested by the State Patrol in Beatrice and is being held on accessory to second degree homicide.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department was first contacted July 4 by the Beatrice Police Department after an informant gave information about a possible homicide at Crystal Springs Campground just outside of Fairbury.
Shortly after midnight on July 6, the driver of one of the vehicles involved, 23-year-old Trey Saathoff of Diller was arrested.
On Sunday, July 7, Jefferson County officials took Gilbert and Grable into custody after a short standoff with police. Then around 4 a.m. Monday the 8th, Gilbert led authorities to the location of the victim’s body.
