Two Vehicles Collide at Gravel Intersection, West of Beatrice
BEATRICE - Law officers, fire and rescue personnel were sent to a two-vehicle crash last night, about three miles west of Beatrice.
A four-door sedan and a pickup collided at the intersection of West Scott Road and southwest 89th. Southeast Communications radio traffic indicated units were sent to the scene at 7:22 p.m., and that one person was ejected from one of the vehicles involved.
A pickup involved in the collision ended up west of the intersection, partly in the north ditch. The sedan came to rest just east of the intersection, on West Scott Road.
Details of the accident are sketchy. It appears the pickup involved in the collision had been traveling west on West Scott Road, and the car was traveling south on Southwest 89th. There are stop signs for north-south traffic, at the rural intersection.
Identities of those involved in the accident are not available. A Beatrice Fire and Rescue Captain says a man and a woman were both taken to Bryan Health West Medical Center in Lincoln, with serious, but not life threatening injuries. They were in the pickup. The driver of the car refused treatment.
Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Rural Fire were sent to the scene.
